Local Search

To help you find what you're looking for, Instacast can quickly search your entire episode collection for specific keywords. It also indexes and searches the show notes of each episode in addition to subscription and episode names. You can even create episode lists based on certain search terms.

View Filters

By selecting from a list of predefined filter rules, such as 'Unplayed', you can quickly show only those subscriptions and episodes that meet such requirement.

Up Next

Up Next functions as a dynamic playlist where you queue episodes for playback without having to create a specific list or worry about enabling continuous playback between episodes. Multiple episodes can be sent to the Up Next queue via drag and drop.

The MiniPlayer is a quick and convenient way to control playback that only takes up a tiny amount of screen space. You can also use it to change your audio output source and view a drop-down list of the current episode's chapters, bookmarks and the Up Next playback queue. And new is support for dark mode in OS 10.10 Yosemite.

Fullscreen Video

Instacast plays video podcasts in fullscreen and automatically hides the user interface, playback controls and mouse cursor, leaving you to enjoy a distraction-free viewing experience.

Downloading Episodes

Access to a substantial capacity of available memory on your computer allows you to download and save a large number of episodes indefinitely. This is great if you want to personally archive your favorite subscriptions without relying on their servers to keep hosting episodes for future playback.

Local File Sharing

Instacast for Mac is able to share downloaded episodes to other versions of Instacast running on your local network, including the iOS version of Instacast and other copies of Instacast for Mac. This drastically reduces the time your second device takes to download episodes in comparison to using the internet.

InteractInstacast does more than just play podcasts: it also allows you to interact with episodes via show notes and has the ability to share episodes to a number of other services.
Show Notes
