Podcast Publisher Information: Flattr Integration
Instacast 1.5 and Instacast HD 1.0.2 support Flattr for podcast feeds and individual episodes. Get paid for your hard work and let users donate by accepting Flattr payments. Instacast users can choose to flattr a podcast feed or an individual episode. In fact the application encourages activation of a feature called Auto-Flattr. If this is enabled, episodes get flattred automatically once a user starts playback. Support however is limited to feeds that are actually integrated with Flattr.
To integrate your podcast feeds with Flattr:
- Sign up with Flattr.
- Add Auto-Submit URLs into your podcast feeds using one of the options below.
With Instacast you have two options to integrate Flattr with your feeds:
- You add a simple Flattr button to your show notes:
This option has the benefit of being compatible to other rss readers that simply display the button. Instacast however removes this button from the show notes and uses the Auto-Submit URL with its Flattr API driven implementation.<a href="AUTO_SUBMIT_URL" title="Flattr"> <img src="https://api.flattr.com/button/flattr-badge-large.png"/> </a> - Add payment link tags to your feeds. Please see "Flattr in feeds" for a detailed description. This approach is preferred and has the benefit of improved parsing performance in mobile clients like Instacast. This also makes sure that only Flattr-API enabled clients display the Flattr option.
Both options are compatible with FeedBurner.
